The Journey is the Reward

There is nothing that I can say that hasn’t already been by people much more eloquent than myself. But what I would like to share is the impact Steve has had on me personally. I was born into a family of Apple users and my dad had always been passionate about their products. I grew up a fairly geeky kid and was oftentimes on a computer. I’m of the generation that always knew computers in our daily lives so that’s not a huge stretch, but few kids remember the excitement and sense of endless energy when they hooked up their own Power Mac for the first time.

Fast forward to my senior year of college as I was putting the finishing touches on my degree when I was approached by a recruiter to join the company Steve built. I was surprised, excited and intrigued, but felt that it wouldn’t be more than just a job and a place to have fun while I finished college. If you’d asked me then if I would have made a career out of it, I’d have laughed. But over the past 5 years, I have met the most passionate, creative, talented and inspiring people in my life. I have had bosses who have become confidants and lifelong mentors. My coworkers are now best friends that I will have for life. I’ve inherited a whole family. That part time job developed into my passion and my life and I couldn’t be more blessed for what Steve built.

His brilliance has little to do with the products and had everything to do with the passion and purpose with which he tackled his entire life. Steve, you have changed our world, widened our horizons and given my life a direction.

Thank you,
Logan Brown
